Position /Term Name / Title

Erin O'Connell
Erin O'Connell

Erin relocated to Oregon in 2005 with her husband. They have two adult children and two four legged kids. Coming from living rurally, they wanted to live in a small town but also close to the big city to have new experiences. Rainier offered a unique opportunity for this and the town has become home with great neighbors and a beautiful environment.

Erin works in public service for Columbia County and believes in making people's lives better. Participation in government is a right all citizens have and is extremely important. Volunteering and helping to make a positive impact is very rewarding and she looks to make a difference for the community of Rainier.

#2 01-20-20 / 12-31-23 Nic Gratzer
ngratzer@cityofrainier.com

Nic has lived most of his life in Rainier. After graduating from high school locally, he and his wife moved to Southern New Hampshire for a decade. There, he worked as a Mason, studied Gemology and continues to work in the Jewelry Industry, and had a career as a mortgage banker.

He currently works as the operations manager for a roofing company and considers Rainier the "best-kept secret in the Pacific Northwest." In addition to being on the planning commission, Nic also serves as a member of the city's budget committee. In his spare time, his hobbies include fishing, camping, smoking food and automotive restoration.

#3 01-01-20 / 12-31-23 Dena Nordstrom, Vice Chairperson
dnordstrom@cityofrainier.com
Dena Nordstrom
Dena Nordstrom

Dena and her family moved to Rainier in 2015 from Oregon City. Her and her husband wanted to get away from the big city and raise their kids in a smaller town. Dena has 5 children and 5 grandchildren.

Dena started volunteering immediately when she moved to Rainier. Hope of Rainier was the first of many along with Toy N Joy, REDCO and even did some softball coaching. Now she sits on the Planning Commission and has high hopes to move Rainier towards the future, but still keep its small-town appeal.
