City Hall Restoration
At its May 6 meeting, the Rainier City Council voted unanimously to award two bids for work on the historic City Hall building.
Work has already begun on restoring the windows in the City Hall building, which is over 100 years old. That window restoration has been a council goal for many years and is estimated to cost around $130,000.
Also approved was a bid for $74,931 to replace the roof on City Hall.
“It’s always been important to me that we, as council, be good stewards of this historic building,” Mayor Jerry Cole said. “The projects that council approved will help ensure that the building can serve the people of Rainier for future generations while preserving our unique history.”
